It's a find it hard to get fit between Yigo, Yona and Talofofo residents for Zi Xiu Tang Bee Pollen the local version of "The Biggest Loser" competition.
Along with the bragging rights, whoever loses the most weight in 2 months will win a cash prize for themselves as well as their village.
Robert Barber from the Children's A healthier lifestyle program says "The villages are competing with each other for total weight reduction among the participants in each village. It's going to be according to percentage weight loss. Within each village, we'll also have a 1st, 2nd and third place winner."
Health professionals will visit each village each week to assist participants using their diet regime and supply physical activity training. The participants may also be weighed in every week. Yigo began the weigh ins last night, Talofofo will have theirs tonight and Yona on Thursday.
Barber says,"We aspire to build cohorts of heroines in every village, modeling to their personal children and to the rest of the village healthy dietary patterns."
One of the participants representing Yigo is Phil Leon Guerrero. This is what he has to say, "This is a great way in trying to get healthier, lost weight, and get ready for the holidays acquire the best good."
They're wanting to get 10 to 30 participants in every village. Yigo Mayor Rudy Matanane informs us the numbers as of yesterday.
"Yigo signed up. There's 11. Talofofo is 17 and Yona is 7. My message towards the participants would be to lose as many pounds especially from Yigo so we can win."
